Zamir Telecom Limited has secured the status of PoP partner of Bangladesh Telecommunication Company Limited [BTCL]. As a direct result of this agreement BTCL will enable Zamir Telecom to aggregate Bangladesh voice traffic for BTCL. Zamir Telecom would offer the same regulatory rate [presently 4c] as all other IGW e.g. BanglaTrac, Novotel etc.
Zamir Telecom will open up Next Generation network for BTCL existing partners and new businesses over Internet Protocol. This will remove the bottleneck of BTCL's inability to move to NGN switching. Any retail or wholesale operator now will be able to have BTCL termination from Zamir Telecom over IP or TDM as preferred.
Zamir Telecom Limted has been a bilateral partner of BTCL since Jan, 2007. The company maintains one STM1 [63E1] connectivity with BTCL over SEAMEWE4 for termination and providing direct IPLC circuits between BTCL and several international carriers.
Due to the new agreement Zamir Telecom will open a further STM1 with BTCL with the anticipation of collecting over 30 million minutes per month from quality seeking voice businesses. Even after tough competition coming from IGW operators Zamir Telecom is confident that there is no dispute about superiority of the quality of BTCL voice termination and there are high demands of BTCL routes. Having a STM1 added in the network Zamir Telecom is confident to deliver significantly increased traffic to BTCL.
